Hello, I’m Patty, and I’ve chosen blogging as a platform to share my feelings, thoughts, and passions.

One particular passion of mine is social justice, with a strong focus on advocating for children’s rights. I believe that every child deserves to be heard and protected.

In addition, I’m currently hyperfocused on promoting inclusiveness and providing support for caregivers of children with additional needs, particularly those with Autism. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and understanding community for these caregivers.

My own health and well-being have been impacted by cancer, which has led me to explore the concept of trauma. I find the connection between trauma and health intriguing and believe that understanding and addressing trauma is crucial for personal growth and healing.

While I am not an expert in any specific field, I have a diverse educational and professional background that has shaped my perspectives.

I hold a diploma in Counselling and Community Services, as well as certificates in Communications and Child Studies. I have also completed numerous short courses and trainings on topics such as child protection, cultural awareness, domestic violence prevention, suicide prevention, and mental health.

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of working with three highly respected child protection, not-for-profit organisations in Western and South Western Sydney. In various roles, including Caseworker, Family Connector, Community Development Officer, and Multicultural Community Project Officer, I have had the opportunity to engage with individuals and families, providing support and assistance.

In addition to my professional work, I have been an active volunteer within Pacific communities in Sydney and Samoa since 2012. Recently, from 2021 to 2023, I have been involved in the start-up of a non-profit organisation that supports and advocates for victims and survivors of sexual crimes.

My dedication to volunteering and community work has been recognized by the Blacktown City Council in 2013, and in 2021, I was honored with a 16 Days of Activism Local Heroes award by The Outer West Domestic Violence Network for my efforts in promoting women’s independence, decision-making, and equity within Blacktown City.

Through my blog, I hope to share my experiences, insights, and knowledge to raise awareness, inspire action, and foster conversations on important social issues.

Join me as we explore the world of social justice, inclusiveness, trauma, and personal growth.
