As a child, I was often labelled as someone who talked too much, was bossy, controlling, loud, demanding, and opinionated (the talking too much really stuck).
And guess what? I see those same traits in my granddaughter!
Even my daughter was described in similar ways.
But you know what? I’ve decided to change the narrative.
Instead of focusing on the negatives and labels, I now use words highlighting strengths.
I am assertive, strong-willed, Influential, a natural leader, adaptable, a front runner, and determined, and so are my girls.
We are the movers and shakers, the advocates, the brave, and the change-makers.
I no longer hold shame for being true to myself.
Looking back, no one could have predicted all that little Patty would achieve. They tried to quieten her and put her in a box, but she refused to be confined.
And now, here I am, accomplishing things that no one could have imagined.
It’s time to break free from the limitations society imposes on us, especially as females.
We should never be afraid to know our strengths and embrace our worth. There’s nothing wrong with being a robust and empowered individual!
So, let’s celebrate our uniqueness, our assertiveness, and our determination. Let’s show the world we can achieve anything we set our minds to!
