Keeping it real and authentic as much as I can.
This afternoon I presented at the hospital exhausted from the pain I’ve been carrying for too long.
I was at crying point and making enough noise for the neighbours to be concerned.
I wasn’t planning on being here but almost seven hours later and I’m satisfied that I made the right choice.
I had some intrusive examinations, I slept on uncomfortable chairs for hours and I had a cannula inserted just in case.
I waited hours to speak with a surgeon who recommended I stay overnight but was satisfied I was good to go home with my recommendations and scripts for new pain relief once she realised I did not want to be admitted.
We’re working on a plan and testing a few things; she’s satisfied that there’s no current risk of the cancer returning and suggested that my body may be experiencing some side effects of from the initial cancer surgery.
We’re now leaving the hospital and I’m looking forward to getting the new pain relief, showering and getting a full nights sleep.
