I appreciate my body and respect all it’s been through. This time two years ago I was in hospital healing from my last major surgery to reverse an ileostomy and remove a hernia at the same time; all this was what I considered the last part of ‘THE’ cancer journey.
I remember having a chat with the surgeon and he mentioned how I was looking a bit ‘crooked’ so I shared how uncomfortable I was feeling and he explained how much trauma the body goes through when having surgery.
I literally felt like my body was given a beating from my left shoulder to my lower back and having the doctor explain it really made sense as to why I was feeling the way I did.
The hospital supplied the drugs and encouraged me to use them but I didn’t want to become too reliant so as requested Eli brought along my supplies (wheat bag & essential oils) and we spent some time focusing on my aches and pains whilst still in hospital and also once discharged and at home.
My body has almost fully healed; I’m still working on repairing it with visits to the chiropractor, having massages and I’m also still using my oils and warm wheat bags in time of need.
The journey has been a long one but I trust that it’s one that I needed to be on.
